i think that some kind of rails/sliding block would improve the building possibilities for some epic machines.

stuff like reloading, walking machines, steering, aiming etc.

made a quick mockup to explain it a bit easier.

the darker grey part as rails and the lighter part as the "sliding/locking" part.
the next block can then be placed at the end/top of the lighter part.

Offtopic aside, this would be nice indeed. As is, the blocks have a hefty amount of friction, making launcher-type things fiddly. I think two block types would suffice: a rail part and a slide part. When placed together, the slide is restricted to move on the direction of the rail. Some tolerance to allow slides enter rails again would be good, too.
