Hi everyone. I've discovered this game with a Let's Play and immediately fell in love with it.
I've created some stuff, mainly to beat the alpha levels but also "for fun".
Here are three of my creations. They are WIP but are good at what they're supposed to do so far.
Ballista Concept
Here's my concept of a Ballista. Looking much like a giant crossbow that throw big wood beams over a long distance.
A few explanations might be required. The three beams that I lower underneath the whole machine is to avoid having to press 5 keys on my keyboard at the same time for launching the bolt. It basically helps to focus on the launch itself. The keys used are L (springs, holding), J (explosive bolt, releasing the bolt from the piston) and V (release grabbed object) in quick succession and releasing the spring tension at the right moment. Timing is key.
Other keys :
G to catch the "bolt" (piston)
H to raise the front of the Ballista
Z and R to lower the threem supporting beams (front)
U and O to lower the back beams to increase the angle of fire
File name is " Balliste2 "
Balliste2.bsg (16.84 KB)
Long Range Catapult
I've had fun with a few catapults models but this one was by far the most effective. It takes advantage of the pulling power of the springs in the first few moments when the payload is hoisted in the air at the back of the main beam (where the bomb stands). I've noticed that with springs only at the other end of the catapult beam (front), it wasn't enough and often resulted in the beam bending/twitching. Helping the beam to accelerate rapidly that way worked fine.
I've achieved great distance with this thing.
Keys to use :
L to tighten the springs. Timing isn't so important, just hold it.
Filename is "Megapult2 "
Megapult2.bsg (19.74 KB)
Airplane Slingshot
Well, I figured that you try to throw other things that wooden beams with the Ballista. I've tried launching a basic airplane with it... Without any great success so far
Keys:
Same as the Ballista Concept.
Filename is " Balliste_aero ".
Balliste_aero.bsg (17.59 KB)
And that is all for the moment.
More crazy stuff probably coming later
Thanks for your time ^^
Cheers.
