Having some issues when i try to make larger scaled machines due to the fragile nature of the materials, can we get iron basic blocks as well?

One thing I've found that works is substituting pistons wherever possible. I think now there is also the option to use the ballast blocks (indestructible...but I'm not sure how strong their attachment bonds are)
Either way. Using the ballast blocks instead of the wood can save you a TON (literally...hahaha it's a weight joke). Especially if you set their weight sliders as low as they'll go.
