i was working on a walker style build and realized that the blocks just slide around and cannot walk forward, tried it with the wheels and noticed it would slide around with certain angles and weight.
so i was wondering if we could get a little bit of texture difference between the grass and the grey ground around the objective.

Seems like a nice idea for better physics, I'm sure they'll add something like this closer to release. But nice idea!

Yea, using wheels at footpads is the only thing I've seen that helps with traction. Unfortunately they create lag. Using armor seems even slipperier.

yeah i used wheels but the way i have the build set up, it walks like with animal like motions and the wheels snapped as soon as it stepped

I will pass this suggestion onto the devs!

maybe even a way to have a permanent attachment to the ground, so that it cant move.

In general, it seems that blocks have way more friction between themselves than they do with anything else. Especially apparent in the sandbox level. I think it would feel a lot better if the friction values elsewhere were fixed up to match.

Dude - you make it and add, and we will find a way to use it and abuse it... For starters it would help to pin a artillery device down so that it doesnt bounce all over the place....

Last night I tried making what was... essentially a humanoid upper torso, that had arms that reached forward and attempted to drag itself along.
Definitely noticed the lack-of-friction issue there. My horrific mechanical half-man just wiggled around in place instead of actually moving. :[
