Cannons in their current form must be place-holder, or bugged... surely!? I really think they should have their stats changed.
Changing them to be stronger wouldn't help the player much... From the players perspective, the cannonballs will kill anything they touch, even if the ball is rolling pretty slow, so having a more powerful cannon doesn't really matter except that you get some extra range.
But from having them used against me...they're just SO lame. They're like the Erectile Dysfunction of battlefield weaponry.
Example: "Oh crap, that cannon that is as tall as a man is aiming at me! (Fires) "Oh haha, I was pretty close to it, but the cannonball still couldn't even reach me" (the ball finally reaches you, rolling up and nudging your bot)
Example 2: Wow, that cannon just got a direct hit on my un-armored wood section there, let me rotate my view to see the damage......(There is none)
Example 3: Hmm. I'll just back up and wait over here while those cannon fire off all (4) of their shots while I'm CLEARLY out of range... (Cannons need an "in-range" check before firing)
I could go on.
Long story short, Cannons should have some SERIOUS kickback, and launch the cannonball fast enough to SPLINTER any wood it hits, or to knock your bot hard enough to make parts fall off if it hits armor.
They should kick so hard that no smart player would EVER mount them on wood without having some sort of shock or piston there to take the recoil.
Just my 2 cents.
