One of Besiege's most appealing feature is to let us destroy our surroundings in a pretty wide & wild variety of ways, only limited by our imagination & the current implementation of arranging the available blocks.
As you may already know if you read VapidLinus's thread about unused blocks, one of these unreleased block is nothing less than a ball & a chain, which proves, after playing around with it, to be an outstanding retribution tool!
Chain, as the other NotYetImplemented/unused blocks, are not available by default, the Besiege devs have their own reason for that, in their current state (partially broken/unusable) only the chain is worth playing with, but with a serious drawback in mind, which might be the main reason why it's not officially supported: It seems to be one if not the most resource consuming block of the game, obviously due to each of it's multiple parts requiring intense computing.
Quite a bunch of users have expressed their interest towards trying chains for themselves around the forum, and I am really willing to satisfy their demand. But unless mistaken, I am not allowed to ditribute modified dlls/core game files, I also am reluctant making an executable to do the job for you as some people's AV software might trigger false positives & then pollute the thread with useless posts, I finally decided to share a simple DYI method that anyone can do, and which takes about 10 seconds to achieve!
But first, I'd like you to read those simple notes:
-Playing around with NYI blocks means you accept the consequences: if something goes wrong, there's no-one but you to blame, which also means there's no need for bug reports about machines using NYI blocks / bug the devs about unsupported features!
-I think you should keep posting & sharing your thoughts/screenshots/video/blueprints/ideas about those machines in this thread or within the modding section, in order to keep the distinction between legit & modded machines as clear as possible, to avoid userbase confusion & prevent potential moderation nightmare.
So let's wait no longer, now to the really super simple method:
# Launch the game, get into any level of your choice.
# Launch Cheat Engine or any similar memory editing tool, and attach to the besiege.exe process.
# Ingame, select the WING block
# In CE (default settings), type 25 in the Value field then hit the First Scan button.
# Ingame, select the WING PANEL block
# in CE, type 34 in the Value field then hit Next Scan.
# A single adress should remain in the left listing, double click on it to bring it down to the editing tab: you can now arbitrary set the block your cursor is holding.
# To add CHAIN to your cursor, double click the Value field then change it to 13.
# Ingame, you can now place chains!
Feel free to share your joys & disappointments, failures & huge amazements about your scariest hammer setups and chained death machines, just show your love to the game, let it be with chains!
Chains are definitely fun to play with, either as a building block or used to satisfy your crushing needs, I can't wait to see what other players will do with them!

Some of you might have asked to themselves: "being able to pick my block is great, I wonder if there are other aspects of the game I could alter with a few editing tricks?"
The answer is yes, of course. I won't guide you threw, but with a bit of logic & patience, you can remove some of the game's retrictions to let you build otherwise impossible machines, here are a few examples:
You can alter or remove block's collision, even stack infinite amount of blocks in the same spot:
You can also change their orientation, allowing for much more complex building, you can see an example in this thread.
Happy exploring!
