Springs have a "elasticity beyond limits" slider, which I've set to 3.00. But when I test my contraption, the max length of the inactive springs is exactly the same as it was in the editor. wtf?

The "elasticity beyond limit", refers to when you press "L" (the default button) to contract the spring, the higher the slider, the stronger -> quicker it contracts which means lots more force.

I hate to tell you this suburbansb but you are unfortunately not correct. Damnatus is correct, it dictates how much further the spring can extend beyond its original placement. Your issue Damnatus is that you need to increase the slider and not reduce it. If you put it to 4x then it will not extend as much as 0.3x A lot of people are having issues with this, I will speak to the Devs about making it clearer. PS: I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you suburbansb for involvement in the community and helping others with their problems!

... Welp, I stand corrected then! It seems I didn't know my springs as I thought I may have. Thank you von for correcting that. Had he not increased the slider to 3.0, not 0.3? It's been a pleasure
