So I've built a machine with a steering hinge that controls the tool arm (either with a grabber or a spike ball on the end) and its ability to "aim" up and down.

I've noticed that the steering hinge does not stop after 90 degrees and, indeed, allows the tool arm to keep going backward until it collides with the block the steering hinge is attached to (a wooden beam)... and then it keeps going without breaking anything.

Edit: It's probably not relevant, but I'm running Windows 7 x64 on an i5-4590 with 8 GB of RAM and a 2GB GTX 760 GPU.

Ahh yes, the steering hinge does not have a hitbox, which allows for such funky things to happen. Until the time it is given (or not.. depending if it's a valid wacky feature) you will just have to be careful with the degree at which you turn the hinge
