I'm running the latest Steam build on Windows, but have also noticed this affecting a Linux build.
When you save a machine, as you're typing a file name, any keys which you type still have their normal in-game effect. Hence, you can move the camera, start simulation with Space, etc.
This is probably not ideal!

A simple workaround is to make sure the simulation is stopped when you save your machine. Of course, you can't put spaces in the name or else the spacebar will start it right back up again.

I can confirm this too. I first encountered it when saving a rather large machine. Typing in an "X" to the name deleted a block my cursor was over. Thankfully, there is an undo function, but still, this is a pretty silly bug. It'd be like setting off random abilities in a game while trying to type in chat.
