Catnomass.bsg (6.58 KB) Build this simple catapult just to play around with the weight of the blocks. After constructing the arm I then reinforced it with braces. I was hoping that by removing the blocks and leaving only the braces the springs would speed up the force of the arm throwing the bomb further. To my surprise the arm continues to swing through the cross T and ends up on the ground in front. The braces have no mass and pass through the blocks meant to stop it. 7&4 move forwards 8&5 move back c- fires front canon v- fires rear canon l- launches cat. Also. If you build a helicopter with only braces as a tripod landing gear the braces pass through the ground like they weren't even there. Attachments:

Braces do in fact have mass! 0.5 at the start of where you place the braces. Although, braces do not have a hit box, which means that other items can pass right through them...
Is that what you are referring to?

I believe (physically) they should be solid, and have since added the multitude of reports to my compilation. Although, some may beg to differ, and believe it's a feature not a bug. As having braces that things can pass through is very useful. I'm sure there will be a discussion at some point about this however. In adding it to the bug compilation, I've noted that they might not be a bug and a feature

Useful yes. Realistic, not! Was hoping that the physics of the game would be some- what real world based.

Perhaps... Although in some cases.. you just can't have real world based physics, other wise it could really ruin the game play... For it really is... a game. But thats just my opinion

i suggested having an option to make the tangible or not with the keymapper, as they are equally useful

That is an interesting proposal elmacho Could allow for some interesting designs...although the who physics behind their hit boxes would need a bit of work... Heh... my post count is a 404 error xD

i suggested having an option to make the tangible or not with the keymapper, as they are equally useful I agree with elmacho. I would like the option of having them solid. Then you would be able to use braces in a structural manner and build on top of them,or as swing arms that could be stopped by other blocks.
