I was creating some base objects today and noticed that when I saved them after putting armor on the wheels the objects wouldn't save the armor placement. I haven't yet tested armor placed on other objects.

It does not seem to be related to those issues at all, I only have 3 machines currently saved, and I am not on linux but otherwise the world and machine loads minus the armor. I first saved the machine on the first level, not in creative. Then when I came back later doing level 3 I loaded up my base and realized the armor was not on the wheels(the circular wheel armor), and so I re-added it thinking I must've forgotten to save it. I saved it that time, and when I went to go load it up to make sure it worked the armor was not on the wheels but everything else was fine. I'm not sure what you're asking about the two separate machines because it's only one and the problem seems to occur on saving so there's not a separate corrupted file. I attached the small-wheelbase file which I just attached armor too, but it didn't have the armor when I loaded it. Attachments:small-wheelbase.bsg (2.28 KB)

Ahhh intriguing... Alright well I was just about to fall asleep, so I'll inspect the issue tomorrow. I'll see if, when I load the machine where it has the armour on the wheels or not... Stay tuned

Are you running a system language other than English?
Could you perhaps upload your save file?

Alright, so... I've come back to this... I loaded up the design, and admittedly the armour plates on the wheels were missing! I tried opening it numerous times to see if it would alter, but it seems not. I then re-added the armour pieces, and overrode the save, then loaded it up... they were still there. I am partially stumped at what to do now to be honest xD I guess just collaborate all the data collected and see if something narrows it down... Its not a critical bug (one that crashes your game) however it is quite annoying bug, and would be wonderful to track down and squash!

As far as I know, this might have something to do with the overwrite function not working properly. I can't remember any case right know, where it worked correctly. But a simple workaround that worked fine with me everytime, was to delete the old version (using the ingame delete) and then to save the new machine under the same name. Using this method, all changes were saved. That's why, I'd suggest to rewrite the overwrite function in a way, that it savely removes the old version first before trying to save the new one.

Ohhh, that is very helpful to know... and could potentially be the cause of these issues... Including a handy work around. Having briefly referred to other threads where disappearing/buggy blocks are occurring, it seems that the save/overwrite function is playing up, and not outputting the original design. It would make sense, and seems like a logical reason to explain these issues we are having with saving and blocks bugging out.
