i have tried to make big cannons but i needed something that generates a shockwave so i tried bombs but they destroy the cannon so i thought why not add gunpowder ? a block that can explode but doesnt destoy anything or set things on fire it just generates a shockwave.

Well actually real-life gunpowder doesn't "doesnt destoy anything" its just that the tube is sturdy to contain it and redirect in the open end direction.
Although gunpowder is good suggestion (custom bombs here i come)
