Fiddled Hello Dev's!
I fiddled around about 7 hours on creating really devastating War machines and am pleased that there are plenty ways to shred everything.
I personally like to build more complex machines, such like four Peaucellier –mechanisms as legs, for example.
Unfortunately this is not possible now, due the lack of a proper connection rod and stiffer material.
My main problem is, that the leavers are too weak, same goes for the rotational joint.
I tried to build a mechanism which is automatically lifting a hammer and then releasing it.
My machine was built up with the rotating block (don’t remember the name) and a single leaver attached to it,
so that it will hit the hammers leaver (in lack of a better word) repeatedly. Unfortunately both did fail, the leaver (s) and the joints.
I could not get it running smoothly.
I personally think that the implementation of a limited amount of very stiff blocks (e.g. granite, hardened steel,…) would suite the game just right.
In addition to that, add some very flexible Blocks (Which are best treated as a single beam in calculation, unless there is a knot used for joints…)
Connection Rods: PLEASE implement connection rods, which do have rotational joints already built in.
I beg you to think about:
- Very stiff Blocks (for better bearing seats)
- Very bendy Blocks (for Bows/Ballista/flat spring,….)
- Rigid joints (for medieval gears)
- Button to determine a Symmetry Plane (to make things run in the right direction easier)
- Connection rods (would spare space and allow more complex engines)
- Smooth Blocks (to enable translational bearings for strimmer’s or Ballista arrows)
Alternatively:
- Macros (a simple one-lined Function-builder would be so nice)
- Boats (because i like to have a flying one!)
- Burning Goats as ammo (Barbecue)
- Bigger Wheels (Bigger Wheels - with even more torque - for my medieval buggy)
- Enabling rotation of Joints while in Construction mode (Because Diagonal)
Thanks for your Work, keep it up!
Sincerely
derSchmied
EDIT:
I am deeply sorry for multi-posting these ideas.
If you don't mind, i am adding one that i could not find in your extraordinarily long list of really exiting stuff.
NEW IDEA:
- mass properties of parts shall be shown in some info section (maybe in the Keybinder window)
- brick walls shall be destructible by blunt weapons (by e.g. using a Threshold for the induced energy/force or whatever is calculated to trigger destruction)
- adjustable length of spikes/blades ...
have a nice day!
