Hi, after some thinking number of ideas finally reached critical mass and i have to set them free (they also have the right to be happy).
1. Reloadable cannons - I've read here that there are conserns about cannons, precisely to not make them OP. But i think that if we would have cannonballs as element and we could somehow load new ones to cannon
it wouldn't be so bad. I mean what we are currently doing to achieve repeatable catapults isn't OP at all - it requires some design to actually work, and of course heavily influence mass and size of the machine, so why not with cannons ?
2. Smooth surface - currently there is no surface allowing for moving objects around - i know for sure because yesterday i spent around 2h playing around with ballista concept. Probably the best current solution is one
presented by finestep here (W1 and W2 missile launchers) where 'sliding' of missile is achieved by using wheels (also as a launching force).
3. PVP multiplayer - this is very far fetched, i know, but i certainly hope that complete game will allow such game mode. Possibilities are beyond count - CTF on unforgiving maps, Deathmatches, races and so, SO many more.
Think robot battles meet worms, world of tanks, quake and lego bricks
4, More flexibility with placing certain kinds of elements - this is closely related with my first point, things such as bombs and spikeballs (and maybe above mentioned cannonballs) would be easier to design with if one could count
on at least little gravity when placing them, and doesn't have to put them aligned to grid (as is in case of bombs and stuff now). Im aware that creating separate set of rules for placing few elements, and resigning in their case
from grid is probably absurdly impractical, but i hope maybe some other solution would arise.
5. Optimization - not exactly an 'idea', but i'd like to vote for it. Also does anyone have any idea how to enforce using better graphic card when in-game ? The game is lightweight enough that my computer falls back to built-in
intel graphics, and my fps sucks... I tried to bind it to nvidia card but to no success as yet.
