First of all: cool game, cozy graphics and I like the user interface a lot. While I can create something similar to a catapult, trebuchet and ballista, I cant really create any of them in the game. The main sige warfare inventionsMy main issue is the trebuchet, to be able to create this it should be possible to change the angle of a beam after you have created it on a hinge. Then you can fasten the beam with the fastener which is allready in the game. Weights should also be added to the game. I have tried using a lot of wood, armor and other items, but none of them have been particulary effective to use as a counterweight. It would be awesome with slings as well, but I don't see an easy way to implement it. Battering rams could also be possible with the intoduction of ropes or chains.

Ropes and/or chains would definitely be awesome. And maybe weighted stone blocks to be used as counterweights / projectiles?
Otherwise, I don't think adjusting individual angles of blocks is a necessary feature.

Here, have this tripple catapult trebuchet and battering ram i made anything is possible, you just have to construct some of the parts yourself from the basics we were given in this version of the game. will try to make a balista soon! Attachments:Dr Boom.bsg (26.02 KB)

I think you missed my point, I want to create something that uses the actual mechanisms catapults and such used, not just create something that looks like a catapult or trebuchet

you should broaden your view of what a catapult is there have been many designs, and the one you are refering to is a torque tension catapult. I think we wont be able to spool a couple meters of rope in this game though. as the engine is now that would bug the frick out

There are already Weigths in the game:)Look under the flight parts. They seem to be the heaviest thing available I also tried to make a trebuchet that works on counterweight. It works okay, except for the fact that we lack some way to smoothely pull down the beam. You can only brutally contract springs, which more often than not causes your beam to break. It is also basically impossible to make the "sling" part of the trebuchet, making it quite impractical, because that's where the majority of the force should come from. For that we would need ropes that stay exactly the length they are made at. here's a screenshot and the bsg file trebuchet2.bsg (27.63 KB)
