So I've noticed that the game sometimes freezes for two seconds or so when starting or interrupting the simulation. When I quit the game later my computer shows me the "About this mac" panel which can be opened via the dropdown menu in the top left corner (Apple-symbol). This quickly led to the assumption that during these mine-freezes the mouse actually opens stuff in the background because the start-/stop button for the simulation is pretty much in the same place as the Apple-symbol. I wouldn't mind looking at the "about this mac"-panel once in a while, but one time my Mac suddenly shut down while playing. I suspect that this wasn't caused by a crash since the computer shut down properly. Also, it would take a lot to make a mac crash that hard and I didn't have any problems with the game before. So my conclusion is that during one of these freezes I accidentaly hit the shut down button in the background, because it is accessed via the same drop down menu. I've attached a screenshot of this menu to make clear what the problem is. My system specs: OS: 10.6.9 Snow Leopard CPU: 2,4 GHz Intel Dual Core RAM: 4GB Video: 256MB shared ram (nvidia gpu) res: 1280x800 MacBook from 2008 Attachments:

Hmmm... intriguing, may I enquire whether you play fullscreen, or windowed? As I play fullscreen, and I do not have this issue. (if you do play one or the other, try using the other, e.g. if you play windowed, try fullscreen.)
If you are able to record, a recording of this occurring would be very beneficial.

Playing windowed would solve the issue obviously since the start/stop button in the game wouldn't overlay the Apple-button anymore. Do you get these mini-freezes when starting or stopping the simulation sometimes? It mostly happens to me when I restart the simulation over and over again with rather complicated machines. If you don't have these freezes then you can't reproduce my problem. If you do have this kind of freeze sometimes try clicking the start-button furiously during the freeze, maybe then you hit the "about this mac" button. Is this button at the same place in OS X 10.10 anyway? Unfortunately the low specs of my computer don't allow me to record anything while playing.

Alright, so I loaded up a ~500 block machine, and I do get the 'mini freezes' (lag spikes) due to the loading of the simulation, however when I try to spam the play/pause, even just slowly click it I am unable to recreate what you are saying.
A possible work around would be to you the spacebar, this will allow you to play/pause it without your cursor going through the games UI.
