That is true, which is why only (some of) my older designs use that way of steering, it's a waste of space really. I also use the double wheel. It is much more space-saving and more effective. Ahh yeah, It could be a useful design for some machine though, particularly if you used the steering hinge on all four legs.. could be something to look into actually... *leaves to tinker* heh

CameraMiddle Mouse Button = focus on an object/select rotation point for camera/(also focuses camera for people using DOF) WSAD = camera pan Right Mouse = Rotate camera It might be worth mentioning that the WASD buttons unfocuses whatever object you clicked on with middle mouse button, although people will probably find out themselves rather quickly.

That is indeed a good point to make, as well as being able to use the Command on a mac, which does the same thing as the middle mouse button, useful if you are using a trackpad. Although annoying if trying to take a section screenshot (CMD+Shift+4 (or 3))

I just started the other day (and literally just joined the forums), and something I've found very useful in the absence of cables (or ropes/chains -- something to absorb tension) is contractible springs set to maximum "elasticity beyond limits" (x10.00). It prevents very long spans (e.g. catapult arms) from tearing themselves apart, and they're not brittle like braces. Just be sure to bind the key for those springs to something out of the way that you won't risk pressing, else your machine will implode upon itself (my personal favorite key is the right square bracket "]").
