It should be noted, that in the settings, having DOF turned on, will result in a better FPS by about 8 fold. (With DOF (for me) 4 FPS, Without it 18 FPS)

It's working slow for me too, especially when there is many objects in camera. I'm getting about 60 FPS in editor mode and 4-30 FPS in play mode. Changing graphics settings or screen resoution making no difference at all. My PC specs: Windows 8.1 x64 Nvidia 840m & Intel HD 4600 Intel core i7 4700MQ @ 2.4 GHz 12 GB RAM output_log.txt (132 KB)

Well seeing these posts I guess I'm not the only one having severe frame rate drops when I make a monstrosity of a machine . With all graphics settings off in editor mode with a 300+ block machine it runs around 45fps(system is a 4690k@4.6ghz with Intel HD 4600 graphics); with speed on 100% it drops to 3fps when I start the simulation and the CPU usage is 35-50% across all cores with GPU usage only around 20%(and not even at max clock speed). With the speed set to 25% it runs at around 40fps and interestingly the CPU usage increases to around 60% on all cores with GPU at 85% usage(with max clock speed). There are definitely some weird optimization issues occurring; keep up the good work devs, looks like you have an awesome game in the making.

Hey guys.
I'm having a similar problem. I've got an i7-4790K overclocked to 4.9GHz, 16GB of DDR3-2400, and dual GTX 970s overclocked to 1350MHz each, yet I'm still dropping down to extremely low frame rates whenever my designs get relatively complex. Anytime I exceed ~50 parts, I drop from 60 to 45, anything above ~100 tanks me down to 15, and anything above ~150 delivers <5FPS. Seriously, I can cycle through a PowerPoint faster than that.
I can run Crysis 3 on max settings at 75FPS+, so needless to say I'm kind of confused and disappointed that a game as simplistic as Besiege tanks my system so severely.
I understand that it's in very early alpha, but this is still an issue. This is a fun game that has a lot of potential, but unless this issue is resolved, I don't see it succeeding with the mainstream audience once it's fully released, or at least later in the development cycle.

Use time dilation. Upper left corner.

The point is that we shouldn't have to slow down the speed of the simulation to get a decent frame rate. It's 2015, for Christ's sake.

They understand this is a major problem, and I would assume they are currently working to resolve this. Please just sit tight and enjoy some slow motion explosions in the mean time.
