With the sliders being implemented I wanted to see how it could be useful. So, I looked to the real world for where such a device may be used and came up with this. I did have a quick look before hand to see if anyone had already posted something equivalent to this and did not find anything. however, if my searching skills are poor, I apologize.

Great! I've always wondered when it would be possible to make a proper locomotive! Now it's possible with this little trick! Thanks

Working on a swashplate for a helicopter, this may be useful.

This is really a good idea. I wonder if there is a way to reverse the thing: powering a cog through linear motion.

I have already tried something, without success. What we really need, along sliders, is a crank drive. A wheel/cog on which we can attach poles/braces to make a real transformation between linear and circular motion.

Working on a swashplate for a helicopter, this may be useful. swashHELIxvi.bsg (22.64 KB) u can take a look at this and see if u can use the slider block in anyway to improve upon the swash. invincible mode required.

watodowiththis.bsg (9.34 KB) i wanted to do a crank shaft after seeing what you have done. and immediately i saw a problem. how was i gonna attach hinges at different points so that they will all have the same linkage distance. this was what i came up with. edited : dun need to use grabber, with the toggle mode contraction spring, its a lot smoother.
