So I bought the game when it first came out.
I see youtuber's with different items in game then I do so I am assuming that my game is and older patch, How do I fix this?

If you linked your purchase with a HumbleBundle account, you can just login there, go to "My Library" and download the new version. Otherwise you will need the link you got in the email when you purchased the game, if I remember correctly you can download the new version via that as well. (You might also want to create an account then, it'll make updating more convenient in the future)
Either way, you'll want to copy the SavedMachines folder and the CompletedLevels.txt file out of your old install to your new version, then you will keep your game progress.
