I would love it if it would be possible to add a bomb to a grabber without having to use holders to get it in place, I think this would be a great feature for bombers and other mechanisms. I also think that we should be able to place wood blocks and other items to grabbers as it would simplify a lot of issues.

This is actually possible! You have to:
build block A
putt bomb/block on block A
delete block A
put grabber on the place of block A.

That is the workaround yes, but to be able to place an item directly on top of the grabber would be a lot faster
